Remote and pristine Mt Nicholas Station lies on the western shores of Lake Wakatipu and at the foot of the Southern Alps. Hunting Season Deer species can be hunted late February through to late August and Chamois and Tahr can be hunted all year round but best opportunities are in the rut periods which are as follows - Red Stag & Elk: Mid March – Mid April, Fallow Buck: Mid April – Early May and Chamois Tahr: Late April – Early July.
