Overview

The Alsek River is one of Alaska's most beautiful glacial rivers. Alsek River Lodge is located about 45 miles southeast of Yakutat, Alaska right on the river below Alsek Lake near Dry Bay on the Gulf of Alaska.

The location of the Lodge in Glacier Bay National Preserve offers stunning views of the Brabazon Range and Mount Fairweather. Bordered to the east is Glacier Bay Park and beyond the Alsek River to the west is Tongass National Forest. Hunting for Coastal Brown Bear and Coastal Black Bear, especially Glacier Bear as well as Moose and Wolf is available as well as Sport Fishing for all species of Salmon, Steelhead, Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat and Dolly Varden.

We have permitted hunting areas within Glacier Bay National Preserve, which is bordered on the east by Glacier Bay National Park and on the West by the Alsek River.

Based from the Lodge and from frame tent spike camps we also provide hunts on the west side of the river in Tongass National Forest.

On the other side of Yakutat Bay, we have hunting areas in Wrangell/St. Elias National Preserve and the Tongass Wilderness.

All of our hunts are operated in Glacier Bay National Preserve, Wrangell/St. Elias National Preserve, and Tongass National Forest
